Advantages: Brilliant, just brilliant.

Disadvantages: Can't think of any.

In my eyes the best all round romantic comedy ever made.

Harry and Sally revolves around the two main characters, you guessed it named Harry and Sally. They share a car journey to New York and strongly dislike each other, they then meet again by chance a few times over the years before they eventually become aquaintances.

They then through a series of meetings and late night telephone calls become best friends. The cinematography is beautiful in these moments, with a split screen visualising both characters as they talk on the phone.

The two of them then set up their invidiual best friends on a date with the other, which of course doesn't go to plan and their two best friends eventualy move in together. This leaves Harry and Sally alone and single again. Harry who is still recovering from a messy divorce and Sally whose pretending to cope well with the breakdown of her longterm relationship because her partner didn't want children or to get married.

After bumping into their partners and having their worlds turned upside down which leads to Sally asking Harry to come over when she's upset which then leads to the inevitable....

However the film doesn't end there, I won't tell you anymore but I'm sure we've all seen Harry's final speech on those greatest movie clips shows. It melts my heart everytime.

Ryan holds her own opposite the always witty Crystal. And there are many memorable moments. The emotions all feel real and you really do care about the characters and their journeys. The supporting case are all superb and this film will make you both laugh and cry, you'll either see yourself as a Harry or Sally. Once watched it's easiy to understand as to why this is often referred to as a classic.

Any script writers hoping to move into the romantic comedy area need to view this film, it's a perfect script and not a single moment seems out of place or awkward. (Unlike "Is it raining, I hadn't noticed?" in Four Weddings and a Funeral)

Definatly not one to miss.

Summary: Not one to miss.

Ha! I do love that line, I believe it's actually somebody in the productions mother or aunt or something that says that.

Best line in the film?
"I'll have what she's having"...
