It is a remake of the 1996 French movie L'Appartement, but sadly has none of the nuance or clever storytelling of that film, and is instead a flat attempt at being esoteric and smart that just seems very jumbled and messy. I am quite a fickle person when it comes to gorgeous men and movies so when I was in the video shop and saw the very beautiful face of actor Josh Hartnett on the cover of a video I thought immediately I must try this. When I read the back of the box it looked like a bit of a chick flick so I thought even better and took it home to watch. My five star rating gets across what I thought about the film but here I will tell you in more detail why it was so excellent. ----- The Film: The film opens up with some great music from the Stereophonics with Maybe Tomorrow which is a great song and sets the quite confused tone of this movie.
