Wild at Heart is a strange concoction from the highly acclaimed director David Lynch. In this film, he directs a road movie of sorts, where a young couple are chased because the mother of the girl does not want them to be together. This means that they are moving fairly constantly to different places.

The strange concoction comes from Lynch's crazed idea of inserting references to the Wizard of Oz every now and again throughout the film. This does not harm the film in my opinion but for me it did not add much other than quirkiness and to some extent Lynch just making sure everyone knew it was one of his movies.

From other reviews, it appears that these references are not random, and if you can interpret them, then I would imagine this film would come in easily at five stars. Unfortunately this was not the case for me and so being just a very well made road movie it gets four stars from me.

Summary: Despite bits I did not understand, I really liked this film
