Wild Hogs (DVD) ... the DVD: PAL / A coming-of-age story starring a bunch of fiftysomething stars rather than teenage actors, Wild Hogs is a well-intentioned comedy starring John Travolta (Woody), Tim Allen (Doug), Martin Lawrence (Bobby), and William H. Macy (Dudley) as a group of Midwesterners facing their own versions of mid-life crises. They decide to escape their frazzled personal lives and rejuvenate themselves by taking a road trip on their slick hogs. But their journey is less Easy Rider than it is Three Amigos (plus one). As individual actors, each lead is a formidable star. But throw them all together into one crammed screenplay full of scatological humour and uncomfortable homosexual gags and it doesn't quite work. The actors spend so much time trying to outdo each other on screen that they aren't believable as friends, much less comrades. Walt Becker (National Lampoon's Van Wilder) offers minimal direction on a film that could've used some reining in, especially during scenes between Macy and Marisa Tomei (as a diner owner who inexplicably falls for him). There are promises of some interesting vignettes when Ray Liotta shows up as Jack, the leader of a real motorcycle gang. When Jack threatens to break Dudley's legs, Dudley counters, "I'm a computer programmer! I don't need my legs." Without missing a beat, Jack says, "Fine, we'll break his hands." It's not that the lines are so funny, but they way Liotta delivers them that adds some life to this flailing comedy. Unfortunately, his scenes with the rest of the cast are all too few. --Jae-Ha Kim

... know. So armed with a bike each the four guys go on a road trip, from east to west (or west to east...like it matters really), and we get to follow their "mis"-adventures which were, apparently filmed for humourous purposes. Sadly these seem to have fallen by the way side, and the several jokes tried in the movie usually fall flat. Regularly too slapstick for the audience or too...well...unfunny i guess, although their is the odd giggle or two. The first of these comes about 20 mins in, which is the camp fire ...more

Remember City Slickers? Well if you do then why not rent out Wild Hogs, you’ll find it’s pretty much the same film but instead of horses it’s men on bikes. Now unoriginal ideas are fast becoming the norm in movie world but when such ideas pull in over $150 million in the US alone, why would they stop. Wild Hogs tell’s the story of four guys in the grip of a mid-life crisis. One (Tim Allen) is a dentist not getting the love and respect of his son. Another (Travolta) is flat broke after his trophy wife cleans him out. Martin Lawrence plays a father whose taken a year out to write a book and get nowhere. Meanwhile William H Macy is a computer geek who ...

The movie starts as the journey of 4 blokes in the middle of a mid-life-crisis, John Travolta, Tim Allen William H Macy and Martin Lawrence. As we all know men going through this important transitional peroid in life often...sorry...always, buy themselves a motorbike, it's a well known fact...like when i stick a fiver on someone they are the ones who are bound to lose, ya know. Wild Hogs film only review. The film wild hogs is a fairly new release into the cinema’s that I recently watched and here is my review on it. The film contains some well known actors, Such as Tim Allen, John Travolta and Martin Lawrence they are 3 of the four main characters with the fourth being played by William H Macy who is less well known. The Film revolves around these four middle aged men who are weekend bikers and they meet up every week at a bar to have a few drinks and a ride on there bikes, they call themselves the Wild Hogs. All of them have some issue in there life that they are not happy with and its plaguing there lives. ...
