Advantages: Will Smith delivers a few laughs

Disadvantages: Lots of lame ideas

For a long time I've been planning to watch this movie. Despite it's negative reputation, I thought it looked like a good fun movie, especially as it has Will Smith in it. And I often disagree with what the masses think anyway. I wish that was the case this time. Unfortunately not. I'm no tough critic generally and can look past a films flaws if it's generally well-made. Well it isn't absolutely terrible - it can actually be quite entertaining here and there, Mr Smith does a great job with the role and there are a few amusing moments. But it just has too many naff scenes and really bad 'no-no' ideas like certain characters in drag for an example. And it wasn't funny like the classic scene in Stardust either. Just rubbish and awkward. I didn't hate this movie like a lot of people, but I can see why it was a flop. It doesn't deliver a great entertaining film like it could have. If you must see it for yourself like I did, then watch it with very low expectations.

Summary: Do NOT buy this without seeing it first
