'Now you listen here, if anyone's going to murder my wife, it's going to be me!' Whilst reading Griff Ryhs Jones' autobiography on my summer hols this year (highly recommended - read my review!) I kept thinking about the amazing stuff he did in the 80's with Mel Smith. In fact, Griff was probably one of the new breed of Footlights actors who was destined to do the best out of all of them - Stephen Fry included. Its a shame then to find that a lot of the Smith and Jones series has yet to be released on DVD. ***Movie*** Henry Wilt (Griff Rhys Jones) is a plain, boring Liberal Studies teacher at his local college. His career is going nowhere as his boss dislikes him and so keeps on turning him over for promotion on top of this his domineering wife constantly henpecks at him. Henry who has an oft fatalistic view of life fantasises about killing his wife in a gruesome way. One evening whilst at a party with his wife, Eva (Alison Steadman) he is humiliated by one of her old school friends, Sally (Diana Quick), when she ties him to a blow up doll called Angelique.
