I demand you go and see this film. This is one of the finest British films ever made.

What hasn't been written about this film isn't worth knowing, but what you do need to to know is that you won't regret watching it.

It has a cult status, but that shouldn't put you off because once you've watched it once, I guarantee you will watch it at least ten times more, picking up different things each time.

The basic story is the film, set in the sixties, revolves around two out of work actors living in Camden Town in a freezing cold flat. From there on in, it's a story of drugs, booze and 'unrequited love' (you'll understand when you've seen it!)

Richard E. Grant plays the egotistical alcoholic Withnail and Paul McGann the reserved and ever calm, I. His Name's actually Marwood, but you have to be an anorak to know.

It's full of classic lines and gags which can be retold a million times in the pub, but it also has some poignant moments such as the final scene where 'I' leaves for an acting job and finally brings to an end the partnership and friendship that meant so much to both of them, especially Withnail.

Watch and enjoy for a long time to come.
