Advantages: Everything
Disadvantages: Nothing
Withnail and I is one of my personal fave films of all time!
Set in the 60's, but produced in the 80's, follows out-of-work actors 'Withnail' and 'I' from their
london flat, to a few days break in 'Uncle Monty's' empty house in the the countryside in Penrith,
and back again.
What happens along the way I find highly comical, the mix of characters they come across, the
situations they find themselves in and their reactions to it all.
The actual DVD is a good set, the commentary is well worth listening to for an avid fan, with some
interesting trivia about the film, I also got a poster inside my dvd case which is a good bonus.
It's hard for me to explain the genre, it's a british-made mix of dry humour, situational comedy and
satire, written and directed by Bruce Robinson.
This film also launched the screen career of Richard. E. Grant.
"It's all YOUR fault"
Summary: Some might not 'get' the humour, but people like me will!

- 31/07/08 While its certainly a great film, your review doesn't really explain why you like it so much. |

- 30/07/08 I'm not sure why but your review has come out strangely with lots of unnecessary gaps... |
