Advantages: Great Script, Great Cast

Disadvantages: Not much

A classic British cult comedy. Richard E. Grant is superb as the drunk/drugged-up resentful aspiring actor Withnail, accompanied by Paul McGann as "I", his aspiring writer/actor friend. Richard Griffiths is fantastic as the eccentric, flamboyant homosexual Uncle Monty.

Together, Withnail and I make a terrific duo as the paranoid, reckless flatmates who try to get away from the city in the countryside. Unfortunately, the countryside is not the place for them and they struggle, so Uncle Monty comes round and tries to help but ends up falling for "I".

Packed with some brilliant one liners, fantastic acting, a great soundtrack and one of the best scripts in movie history, this is a must see for everyone.

A very bleak, sometimes moving, comedy that is bound to make anyone laugh with its fantastic characters. My personal favourite has to be Danny - their drug dealer who doesn't seem all there.
