My husband found this DVD recently and having read about it previously, sold me on watching it one evening by saying "it is about a load of people who have killed themselves but aren't allowed to die. They are stuck inbetween earth/ living and heaven or hell in a sort of no-mans' land".

This is exactly what the film is about. As one of the main actors is Patrick Fugit who I adored in Almost Famous (when he was much younger) and Shannyn Sossamon normally does decent films, I decided to give this a go.

(I have to say Shannyn Sossamon is sporting a fabulous choppy hair doo in the movie and reminds me of a young Winona Ryder in a way..).

I adored the movie- and although I was working on figuring out the plot all the way through the film I was stlll nicely surprised at the end in a warm fuzzy way. You get an idea of how things are going to go, but the ending is not 100% predictable. It is not a rom-com in the general pink frilly girly sense, but it is a feel good movie. It is not morbid and depressing, but very uplifting. Though if you hate the idea of the plot then avoid this.

The movie has SUNDANCE plastered all over the credits as it received funding from the Sundance film board/ committee... It is certainly an "indie" film (I hate that word but its a great description).

I do not want to divulge any more the the plot than I have so I won't go into great detail, but this is a film where the little details in the movie (watch closely) and the imagination of the writers/ producer/ director make it a special film I will watch again. It has a very art-y feel about it in the lighting and the make up.

It is different. If you like Sex & The City and girly rom coms you may not get this film. If on the other hand you like films like Magnolia, Son of Rambo, Napoleon Dynamite ... and other less mainstream films then you should watch this. It makes you think for a few days afterwards, and gives you a nice warm feeling. It isn't a heavy film, good for a midweek movie to de-stress after a hard day with a glass of something nice.

Summary: If you like smaller less mainstream films, give this a watch!!
