... and there's also plenty of musings on the backstage politics of wrestling. Also it's interesting that Bret has finally become contemplative and doesn't spend most of the DVD whining about his life. The set on the other discs contains many brilliant matches, perhaps most memorable the great Summerslam 1992 fight between Bret and The British Bulldog. Also included are a few spectacular matches with Mr. Perfect as well as the classic Cage Match with his own brother Owen, as well as the match they had to open WrestleMan...more

Premium Review WWE - Bret Hitman Hart (DVD): Flawless set (307 words)
by - written on 22/11/09 (Very useful, 4 readings)
Rating:

Bret "The Hitman" Hart is widely regarded as one of the greatest wrestlers in the sport's history, and so it's only too apt that he and the WWE were able to put their differences aside to collaborate on this superb 3-disc DVD set that chronicles the key points of his WWF career. The first disc is a lengthy look at Hart's career, beginning with his Stampede days with his dad, right up to the infamous Screwjob incident, as well as the death of his brother Owen, and there's also plenty of musings on the backstage politics of wrestling. Also it's interesting that Bret has finally become contemplative and doesn't spend most of the DVD whining about his ...  Read the complete review

The best there is, the best there was and the best there ever will be...Bret was probably wrong by all accounts bless him, but he is no doubt one of the best ever and was extremely instrumental in the success of WWE in the Nineties. This film looks back at all of his past matches, including classics such as his Intercontinental Title match against Mr. Perfect, his epic Summerslam 1992 match against Davey Boy Smith, a bloody brawl against Stone Cold and the Iron Match against the Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels. Bret carried the WWF when they decided to switch to smaller more realistic athletes following the steroid scandal and did an admiral job. ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review WWE - Bret Hitman Hart (DVD): The best there ever will be! (403 words)

Bret Hart was one of the main reasons I first got into WWE Wrestling, or WWF as it was back then. My first Wrestlemania was just 2 weeks after I started to watch it and this was headlined by Bret Hart vs Yokozuna in Las Vegas. Bret lost the match, but he left an impression on me that has never dwindled to this day, despite Bret having not wrestled for the best part of 5 years and left the WWE over a decade ago. When I heard this DVD was being made I couldn't hide my excitement and bought it on the day of release. Having already watched Bret in his "Wrestling with Shadows" documentary, I knew what I would be getting would be a quality, warts and all, ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review WWE - Bret Hitman Hart (DVD): BRET THE HITMAN HART (288 words)

Bret 'The Hitman' Hart was the top wrester in WWE in the early 1990's taking the torch from Hulk Hogan and passing it to The Rock and Stone Cold Steve Austin. In this DVD we get to see his classic matches as well as an extensive interview with The Hitman which is a must see for any WWE fan as it's the first time he has spoke about many issues since his infamous fallout with the company. The fallout is the highlight of the DVD as at long last Bret get's to put his side across on the Montreal screwjob one of the most famous incidents in WWE. The inclusion of interviews with Vince McMahon and Shawn Michaels also give a great insight in to what really happened that ...  Read the complete review
