* THE ROAD TO WRESTLEMANIA How cliche, but Royal Rumble truly is the event that marks the road to World Wrestling Entertainment's premiere pay-per-view show, WrestleMania. 2008 marks the 21st royal rumble match where the winner will go on to face either the WWE or World champion at WrestleMania XXIV, that's 24 to you and me. But of course it's not all about the royal rumble match itself, there is also an undercard. Without further ado.. * WHAT'S IN AN UNDERCARD? Now I'm guessing that most of the people who ordered this on Sky Box Office for its £15 price tag were probably not purchasing it on the opening matches. Infact, as a wrestling ... I'm a huge Wrestling fan, have been since I was a kid, and probably will always be, most people will say their favorite PPV event is Wrestlemania, The "Grandaddy of them all" and I for one agree, it doesn't get much more prestigious in Wrestling than to headline Wrestlemania, however for me the Annual Royal Rumble comes a close second in terms of prestige, and in fact I would say the Royal Rumble is the more action packed, exciting PPV ( Mainly due to the Main event itself ) There have been 22 Annual Royal Rumbles and the 2008 was the 21st, the PPV itself features Championship matches and feature matches just like any other PPV, however the ... Royal Rumble is a legendary annual PPV held in January by World Wrestling Entertainment. The PPV contains the 'Royal Rumble' match which is a 30 man battle royal where 30 guys compete, eliminate opponents by throwing them over the top rope, and the winner gets a WWE title opportunity at Wrestlemania which is 3 months after. This year, the show comes from Madison Square Garden in New York City. Let's review the card: -- Ric Flair vs. Montel Vontavious Porter (MVP) -- This is a career threatening match for Ric Flair where if he loses, he must retire. There was a good build-up to this match, both guys had great promos and the ... Read the complete review

ROYAL RUMBLE 2008 was a good solid pay per view with many suprises. Too avoid dissapointment I will only give the matches and not the results in case you want to see this pay per view for yourself. RIC FLAIR V MVP The legend Ric Flair was told by Vince McMahon that the next time he lost a match he must retire. This led a lot of younger talent wanting to have the honour of retiring Flair which set up this match with MVP. A good opening bout with lots of old school moves. CHRIS JERICHO V JBL JBL'S first pay per view for a long time fighting Jericho for no apparent reason. A very ordinary match considering Jericho was involved and JBL ... Read the complete review

Introduction : It's January the 27th. I'm up getting ready to watch my most favourite wrestling Pay Per Veiw of the year. Royal Rumble is the annual PPV which hosts a number of matches but most importantly the Battle Royal. The battle Royal works when 30 of the great wwe superstar's enter the ring at different stages to fend for they're survival in the match where each superstar can be eliminated by bieng tossed over the top ring rope. The winner will see themselves on the grandest stage of them all Wrestlemania only to hope that they can become a champion with they're well deserved shot from the Royal Rumble Battle victory. A few other entertaining matches are ... Read the complete review
