... but strange match. US CHAMPIONSHIP - EDDIE GUERRERO V RHYNO V TAJIRI V CHRIS BENOIT A really good match which was wrestled at an extremely fast pace. Lots of near falls and unique moves and the hidden gem of the pay per view. NO DISQUALIFICATION - KANE V ROB VAN DAM Recent tag team partners had dissolved because Kane had recently taken off his mask and gone loopy. This match felt botched and really didn't have the intensity it was meant to have had. WWE CHAMPIONSHIP - BROCK LESNAR V KURT ANGLE A really good match. The...more

Premium Review WWE - Summerslam 2003 (DVD): SUMMERSLAM 2003 (411 words)

Rating:

WWE SUMMERSLAM 2003 featured seven matches. I will provide these matches, but not the results in case you choose to watch. LA RESISTANCE V THE DUDLEY BOYS A solid opening match with two proper tag teams. Lots of good tag wrestling and the crowd were into it because it was the opening match. THE UNDERTAKER V A TRAIN When two big guys wrestle it rarely works as was the case here. A poor match with too much physicality and no athleticism. SHANE MCMAHON V ERIC BISCHOFF Thse two are talkers and not really wrestlers. This was a strange match as it more or less became a talking segment because of the interference. A fun, but ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review Rubbish (156 words)

Rating:

This Summerslam has to go down as somewhat of a dissappointment, despite being headlined by a massive Elimination Chamber Match featuring Triple H vs Chris Jericho vs Goldberg vs Kevin Nash vs Randy Orton vs Shawn Michaels. The match itself was good but the outcome was not logical and took a lot away from the event. Elsewhere there card was highlighted by the Smackdown Brand with an excellent United States Title match pitting Eddie Guerrero vs Chris Benoit vs Rhyno vs Tajiri and a fantastic WWE Championship match pitting Brock Lesnar against Kurt Angle. The rest of the card featured bit matches which didnt really go anywhere, including a rubbish ...  Read the complete review

Rating:

My Wrestling reviews generally contain spoilers to please be aware before reading. Summerslam has always been an event that has created some classic moments, Summerslam 1992 for instance which was to date the only WWE Pay Per View to be held in England and featured one of the greatest matches of all time, the match between Bret Hart and Davey Boy Smith for the Intercontinental Championship ( when it meant something ) for example, or Summerslam 1994 which featured the memorable ( although not always for the right reasons ) Undertaker vs Undertaker match. So here we have Summerslam 2003, held on August 24th 2003 in Phoenix Arizona, notable for ...  Read the complete review
