Despite being in that regrettable period when ECW was being repackaged in the WWE's name, Summerslam 2006 is a solid event that's got a good variety of bouts and a great main event in particular. Although they've fought countless times throughout their feud, Chavo Guerrero fighting Rey Mysterio is always exciting, and once again it's a solid bout here, with plenty of high-wire athletics. In an Extreme Rules match for the ECW World Championship, The Big Show defends his title against Sabu, in one of the better ECW-based bouts, in as much as their styles are quite well matched, although the ending gets a bit botched because of Sabu. WWE SUMMERSLAM 2006 was an entertaining event with seven matches on the card. I will provide the matches, but not the results to avoid disspointment if you choose to watch. REY MYSTERIO V CHAVO GUERRERO A fast paced match to start the show. These two wrestlers have great chemistry meaning the match flowed at a fast pace and featured lots of near falls. Good opener. ECW CHAMPIONSHIP - EXTREME RULES- THE BIG SHOW V SABU The nature of this match meant that weapons were allowed. This helped the match as it wasn't going smoothly though still entertaining to watch.
