Ah, Wrestlemania 25. The grandest stage of them all, and indeed pro wrestling's staple show, reaches its 25th anniversary. It is strange, then, that I much prefered last year's offering. It felt like a lot more effort was put into making 24 a memorable show, rather than investing it in 25. It doesn't really matter anyway - this is not actually Wrestlemania's 25th anniversay. The highlight of the wrestling calendar and celebrating it's 25th anniversary Wrestlemania 25th really fell flat. The opening match was the Wrestlemania regular Money in the Bank where eight superstars compete for a briefcase hanging above the ring for a chance to get a title shot anytime they want. The competitors included CM Punk, Kane, Finlay, Christian, Shelton Benjamin, Mark Henry and was eventually won by CM Punk, the first man to retain money in the bank briefcase. The match was ordinary. Only 2 short months after the actual event, you can now enjoy all the stunning action again in stunning high definition glory with this Wrestlemania 25 Blur-Ray box set. For non-wrestling fans amongst you, let me explain quickly that Wrestlemania is the grand daddy of them all in the WWE calendar. For anyone who has ever had even a mild interest in wrestling, WrestleMania is one of the highlights of the year. Dubbed the 'grand-daddy of them all' and 'the greatest spectacle in sports entertainment', it is expected to push the boundaries of all previous WWE events and put on one hell of a show. As a big wrestling fan, i expect a lot from WWE when they release a dvd. In the case of this dvd, i wasnt disappointed! It makes for great viewing, especially the Shawn Michaels & Undertaker match which i have to say has been one of my favourite matches of all time! I attended this years Wrestlemania in Texas which was absolutely amazing & this dvd does it justice. A few short matches were not on the dvd that i saw at the live event but overall it is definitely worth the money & great to add to a collaction of Wrestlemania dvds.
