Rating:
To make it quite clear, this event, King of the Ring 1998, is the most talked about wrestling event of all time. Period. That is just the way it is. Although, on paper, the event really isn't that spectacular or memorable. Yeah sure, there are a few good matches, some great matches, but the reason that this monumental event lives on in the memory of virtually every wrestling fan around the globe is because of one definitive match, the Hell in the Cell epic between Mankind and the Undertaker. This match is commonly thought of as the best of all time. While I disagree with that statement, at the time, and still now, it is quite possibly the most extraordinary happening ... WWF KING OF THE RING 1998 featured nine matches including one of the most famous of all time. I will provide the matches, but not the results in case you choose to watch for yourself. KING OF THE RING SEMI FINAL - JEFF JARRETT V KEN SHAMROCK A physical match which was sloppy at times. However the hard hitting nature made it a decent match. KING OF THE RING SEMI FINAL - THE ROCK V DAN SEVERN This was a match where The Rock had to do everything he could to get a good match out of Severn and he just about did. Okay match. KING OF THE RING FINAL - I won't give the results of the previous two matches, all I will say is that the ... Read the complete review

This event took place at a time when I was watching wrestling non stop, there was three wrestling shows on TV at the time WWF Raw, WCW Nitro and WCW Thunder, They were all on Friday nights over here and I remember the build up to this event vividly. Going into the King of the Ring the main two matches were the return of Hell in a Cell where Mankind would take on his arch nemisis the Undertaker and a frist blood match for the WWF title where Stone Cold Steve Austin would take on Kane. Mankind v Undertaker was a landmark, the moves from this match are still visible on Wrestling today as the Undertaker threw Mankind off the 20 foot Cell and he crashed ... Read the complete review

Rating:
Easily the most remembered pay per view of the WWF attitude era. This event featured a very strong undercard but is best remembered for 2 matches on the card. Stone Cold Steve Austin and Kane produced a thrilling match which ended when Austin bled after being caught with a chair shot by the Undertaker. This marked a huge upset as Kane won his 1st World Wrestling Federation Championship less than a year after his character had been introduced. Undertaker versus Mankind stole the show in a gruesome hell in a cell match. Mick Foley as Mankind took a devastating fall through the announcers table from the top of the steel structure. After amazingly ... Read the complete review
