Advantages: Ramon/Hart Michaels/Janetty
Disadvantages: Nothing really that awful, slightly below par Rumble match
1993 was a poor year for WWF both from a performance point of view and a storyline one. However, this card wasn't actually too bad.
The Rumble itself was built to push Yokozuna as the ultimate monster and a genuine threat to Bret Harts World Title, which it effectively managed to do. Yokozuna steamed through the competition and eliminated Randy Savage to win the match. He then went on to win the World Title at Wrestlemania. The Rumble was also significant for the debut of the diabolical Giant Gonzalez, illegally entering the Rumble and dismantling the Undertaker. Despite his lack of ability it was quite a sight seeing the Undertaker being towered down upon for once.
Elsewhere Bret Hart beat Razor Ramon in a strong match, successfully defending his World Title. Shawn Michaels retained his Intercontinental Title against former tag team partner Marty Janetty and The Steiner Brothers debuted, defeating the Beverley Brothers.
This Rumble is worth checking out for the strong title matches, and watchable Rumble.
