Advantages: You know what your getting before you watch

Disadvantages: nothing to shock or surpise with this one

Well the first in what the studio hopes a long line of films the "origins" series of xmen films.

With so much already known about wolverine the bulk of the background story was pre wrote, just leaving the plot for the film, to be padded out.

The storytelling is on a par with the other xmen films, its not Shakespeare but they do try and tell a story as well as sell the film!

The main casting was dictated by actors playing the roles in previous films, but my allowing some of the cast to die, and not make it forward into the main film a few new characters were introduced to the film word.

Over all it was an enjoyable flick, its a typical fantasy action film, revolving around a single event, with a long run up. The paceing of the film was swift enough not to bore the action junky, while no so fast that those wanting more than an adrenaline fix wouldn't get bored.

Summary: A decent flick to while away an hour and a bit, but dvd is the way !
