Advantages: Jackman is solid as always and Gambit is in it...yay

Disadvantages: Terrible script, poor effects considering its 2009

I have been looking forward to this movie for a long time but this was without doubt the biggest disappointment since the X-Men films. I really really hoped that after Jon Favreau showed how a super hero movie is done with Iron Man they would maybe learn something. Clearly not. There is a few niggling annoyances if you read the comics and you will pick holes in it (nowhere near as bad as the X-Men movies though)

The movie just feels slow and at times uncomfortable to watch, the effects really are nothing great, storyline while they have tried to make it their own is fairly dulled down. Without doubt Jackman is the man to play Wolverine but he needs a better script and a Director with a bit of an understanding as to how these things work, ie Nolan and Favreau.

Fair enough if you know his story you know how the film will end but even then the ending was just....well BLARGH.

Highlights for me were Gambit who should have been in the X-Men movies and he is played well and is one of the few likeable characters in the movie. Ryan Reynolds as Deadpool was a great shout for me and if rumors are true he is due to get his own movie out of this role which will be on to look out for.

All in all an average film that could have and should have been so much better.

Summary: An ok watch if you are bored and its free but dont waste money on it.
