Advantages: Great movie - Loads of action

Disadvantages: Plot a bit thin in places

X-Men Origins: Wolverine is a 2009 comic book hero movie, and as such it certainly delivers in all the right places. Hugh Jackman stars as Wolverine, the character from the X-Men movies/comic that we've seen so much about in the past 5 years. This film is the 4th in the Xmen series, and is set prior to the events of the first X-men Movie. It sets the scene for the introduction we see in the first movie of Wolverine arriving with no memory searching for clues to his past.

It starts out in Wolverines childhood, and brings us through his youth and to (almost) the present day. The movie has a cast of many X-men favourites from the comic including our first sighting of Gambit (my personal favourite), Deadpool and Stryker. The plot development is slightly lacking for some of these characters, with Deadpool being kind of thrown in at the end, but the general 'X-Men feel' is still there.

Overall I would have preferred to see more time be spent on developing the other characters in the movie, but as the focus was clearly on Wolverine this time round, I don't feel anything was really lost. I watched this movie again last night before writing this review, and will probably be watching it again. One to buy
