Yes man follows the story of an LA bank employee, Carl Allen (Jim Carrey), who constantly declines anything that would involve him being sociable with any other human beings, even making him miss his best friends batchelor party. He then bumps into an old friend who persuades him that he goes along to this Yes! self-help seminar. Books have been adapted for the cinema ever since film existed. Both fiction and non-fiction have made the leap; often being hard to determine which is which. Biogs have been fertile breeding ground for actors wanting to get an Oscar nomination, but the tales on the screen are often filtered through so many half truths and open lies that the tag 'based on a true story' now mean 'made up apart from the main character's name'.
