Advantages: Good one liners

Disadvantages: Cringeworthy

Having been in stitches reading the book, maybe I was overexpecting for the film, but I really really didn't like it.

There were parts such as the seminars which were great and showed Carrey in his elements as an actor. I found the plot thin thought and some elements way too drawn out.

Carrey looked older in the film. But pairing him with a young looking girl, looked more like a father and daughter, and quite frankly not want to watch.

Danny Wallace's boredom with his 9-5 day job and barely existent social life, may strike a chord with people, giving the chance to find vicarious humour in some of his exploits and almost idolise the character for his nerve.

Fans of Jim Carrey may enjoy this film, but I would say the book beats it by miles for entertainment. The dead pan delivery by the main stars did have it's moments, but I found that the chronically awkward aspects overrode the good ones.

Summary: Not something I recommend
