You Don't Mess With The Zohan came out in 2008. The film was directed by Dennis Dugan and is an American comedy starring Adam Sandler and John Turturro. The film did Ok at the box office and managed to pick up an award. Recently Adam Sandler has played a few more serious roles but this one is back to a crazy silly performance. Adam Sandler's comedy films are frequently silly, childish, and dumb, but that's kind of the point! He has no pretensions to crafting intelligent or in any way socially insightful comedies - call them "lowest common denominator" as you may, they do manage to generate laughs quite frequently, and whilst Zohan isn't among his best films, it still has a certain oddball charm, and is probably the strangest film he's ever made. Do you think there is some kind of Global conspiracy to waste and pollute peoples time with junk like this? Besides the utter waste of money on this high budget movie, the lousy acting and sick storyline, it also makes fun of one of the most serious conflicts that has infected this world. Not that I am against treating serious issues with humor such as "American Dreamz" did.
