Advantages: Amiable cast, great dialogue

Disadvantages: Contrived

This film turned out to be a pleasant suprise for me. Having enjoyed most of Kevin Smiths films and finding Seth Rogan a great comedy actor since Undeclared I was worried to see a lot of mixed reviews for this film. I let if pass me by to a large extent but then when it came to DVD I picked it up. After laughing my way through the film I was glad I got around to checking it out. And this wasn't just due to my lowered expectations, I watched it again and enjoyed it just as much as the first time.

All the main cast perform their required duties admirably. I was particularly happy to see Jason Mewes give an unrestrained performance as a nasant porn star.

Being a romantic comedy of sorts, there were some almost cringeworthy moments and the characters acted rather stupidly at times. But this is a funny film at it's core, not a analysis of the human condition. A couple of jokes miss, but these failures are drowned out by so many more hilarious moments.

Summary: Definately worth an hour and a half of your time.
