	Cubase VST ... started as a MIDI recording and editing tool. Later, features for recording raw audio were introduced. Cubase was originally written for the Atari ST, and has since been ported to Apple Macintosh and Microsoft Windows. Cubase has changed somewhat over the years as have the computer operating systems hosting it. - initally Cubase, which featured only MIDI, and which was available on the Atari, Macintosh and Windows. Then Cubase VST which boasted fully integrated audio recording, real time playback and track mixing. VST stands for Virtual Studio Technology, a standard for audio plug-ins which has led to a plethora of third-party effects, both freeware and commercial.... 	Mixman Studio ... a bit of a drum'n'bass addict, I have been creating my own music for a few years with wav sequencers and samplers. These can be very expensive and very time consuming to use. I had a demo of this software on a magazine cover. Installed it, listened to the sample tracks and loved it! I liked it so much, I bought the software, £39.99 in Electonics Boutique. You can order it online from their website for £5 now. You are presented with two 'turntables' on screen that have eight track slots available. Double click on the tracks and pick from the multitude of samples and loops included with the CD. The track is inserted in the 'mix'. C... 	Mixman Studio ... you fancy yourself as a bit of a Fatboy Slim or Armand Van Helden, but don't have the gear to back up your gob, aslong as you have a PC, Mixman Studio maybe the software you're looking for. Mixman Studio generally is a DJ based remix tool, meaning you could probably pull off a basic remix project with this software alone, but the results wouldn't really be that great. It's main forte, indeed is as a DJ tool with samples instead of vinyls. The software interface itself couldn't be more obvious: you get two turn tables with 8 banks of sounds each (i.e. you can load upto 16 samples at a time), and a microphone to record your own sounds (if you have a...
