... surprisingly easy to use, although to get the most out of the programme, you do need to put in some time and effort to learn the advanced controls.

Well, you can basically create any object you desire on Bryce, and then get the programme to render it for you with a texture of your choice - and here lies the problem - the rendering process is incredibly slow, or at least it is on every computer I have used. 3D modeling is a field that I have limited knowledge of, but I have always had an interest in 'Bryce' - a 3D design and animation programme which specialises in fractal landscapes. It was at Uni that I first began to use the software, creating impossible cityscapes and post apocalyptic vistas on the Macs in the computer suite. Apparently the name 'Bryce' was taken from 'Bryce Canyon', a rocky area which resembled some of the environments that the software is able to create. The first Bryce, imaginatively titled 'Bryce 1.0', first appeared in 1994 as an Apple only product - I'm not sure what Bryce number we're up to now, but the one I own is Bryce 6.1. The ...
