Advantages: Easy to use, slow down the music, write your own music, slow and loop a certain part

Disadvantages: Takes a while to understand how to use fully.

GuitarPro 5 (gp5) is a very useful program that allows you to play record and create your own music. There are some programs out there that jhave been made for free that can open and read GP5 files and they do work however, i have used many of these and none of them compare to the real thing as none of them have the same amount of setting and abilities that GP5 has.

You can open files that other people have already created and play the guitar music at the speed that you want to. This is very useful as you can slow down the guitar parts that you just can't get and it allows you to loop certain parts of music too so you can play the same piece over and over again until you have got it down on your guitar at that speed and then you can put the speed up and do the same there. This is one of the functions that the 'copies' of GP5 do not have and believe me this is one of the most essential features that you could ever want in these kinds of programs.

The ability to write music allows you to hear how your own songs on guitar and also you can simply write in the tab if you dont know how to write guitar music. Also this means that if you think there is a mistake in someone else's tab then you can simply change the one bar of music and then play it to see how it sounds and it does not take long to do and you do not have to remeber where you made that change as it will show up with tat alteration on your screen.

I have been using GP5 for about 2 years now and i simply cannot find any piece of guitar tab editing software that can come close to how good this one is. Like i said this is a very good piece of software and can help guitar playing greatly.
