Guitar Pro 5
Most guitarists are familiar with tablature, but less are aware that there are programms that will actually play the tablature to you for you to follow. The only things that guitar tablature lacks compared with actual sheet music is a lack of timing instuction. Guitar pro allows you to play back the tablature and allows you to hear the exact timing of the song.
A great place to find guitar pro files is on www.ultimateguitar.com, where they have lots of different artists and songs. One problem with this is that the guitar pro files are created by individuals, which means occansionally they are incorrect which is frustrating. You can also edit the guitar files, and save varitations of them which is useful. The most useful thing about this is that you can have numerous audio tracks running at the same time, so when you listen to a song, it can really sound like the original and allow you learn all the differen parts of it.
There is other similar software avaliable, such as power tab editor, which is not as good but avaliable for free. If you are a serious guitarist, then I would reccomend spending a little bit of money and getting guitar pro, it is really worth it. (Find it on eBay for cheaper).
Summary: Well worth it
