In the high tech world of digital photography and video there are a multitude of programs one can use to produce a quality product fit to be viewed and shown with pride. They do however come at a price in this instance that is in the region of £49.99 which is a lot if you are only going to create one or two DVD’s for show. If you however intend to make a good few indeed a yearly one of holidays or such you could do far worse than purchase Pinnacle Studio 9. I bought a Dazzle 150 analog video capture device and it came with Pinnacle Studio 9.3 SE. Capturing from the device was a breeze. I didn't encounter any problems and the quality was quite good. Things started to look pretty bad when I started editing, however. At first, by adding a few existing MPEG-1 files to my storyboard, I was able to produce somewhat of a movie and with transitions in between. However, once I got to about 20 clips, my system started getting bogged down performance wise. Anything I did in Studio 9 took about 5 minutes to accomplish - and I mean anything! Pinnacle has been producing one of the best video editing packages for a while now. Definately one of the best I've come across, and the latest Version 9 is a good addition. Giving anyone the ability to edit their own movies and burn them to CD or DVD, or even put them back onto video tape, if you prefer that old fashioned approach. Very much a packaged designed for the home user, Pinnacle is relatively easy to get to grips with, and has not changed very much from the previous releases.
