Advantages: Supports all music files, sorts music well, ipod support is good, shop is great

itunes 7 is the new version offered by apple. it has some great new features along with the normal standard you would expect.

FEATURES OF ITUNES

iTunes is the equivalent of windows media player. It can play pretty much any type of audio you throw at it. You cann easily add all your music to the library just by clicking File > Add Folder to Library and then selecting the folder where all your music is stored. It will list all the details of the songs > Title, Artist, Album, Play Count, Date Added, Genre, Last Played and many other. You can customize which ones you want it to show. You can easily create playlists and by clicking on new playlist and then dragging the songs you want in the playlist from your library.

ITUNES SHOP

The itunes shop is integrated into this program and will require the internet to access it. Once you click on the store you can see the top 10 songs and top 10 albums at the moment and you can search the entire itunes store for any specific song or album. Songs cost 79p and albums cost £7.99

IPOD SUPPORT

The only way to update an ipod is using this program and so you can imagine how many people must use itunes judging by how many ipods there are. When you plug in the ipod a new menu will come up with a picture of your ipod version (yep it can tell). It will also display the space availavle on your ipod. From here you can tell your ipod to update automatically and just add your entire library onto the ipod or you can select to manually update songs. To do this you go into the library and drag the songs you want from the library into the ipod.

Overall itunes is a great program for playing music, buying music and updating your ipod
