iTunes - organisation in a matter of minutes! (iTunes)

Advantages: Simple layout, create easy to find playlists, very organised

Disadvantages: Videos can be slow and jerky

I was put off using iTunes for quite a while originally as I was a big fan of Winamp. I must now admit however that since actually installing iTunes I have not gone back to Winamp once!

I was originally afraid of trying a new software for my music libraries. I was so familiar with the simplicity of Winamp I thought there was no need to change. Eventually I did get an iPod and knew I would have to face it sometime.

After installing the software, easily I must add, I opened it hoping it would be easy. After the first few clicks I wondered why I never used it before.

After a few clicks I had managed to add my whole entire music library to iTunes. It was put in alphabetical order, with all albums and artists kept together too. This made it very easy to find exactly what song I was looking for. If I could not find the song I wanted, I could simply use the 'Search' box at the top of the screen. This is a great feature just to quickly find that one song that might have been bugging you all day, or that your mate might have wanted to hear all week.

Also, when importing new songs or albums to my iTunes library, it would give me the option to find the album online. By doing this it adds all of its details, including a picture of the album. By having the picture of the album you can also use a feature to search your library via album artwork. This is a neat little feature, however I dont usually find myself using it as the basic layout is so simple to use anyway.

Along the side are different menus, and spaces for your own playlists. This came in handy when I wanted to create different genre playlists for different things, such as maybe a rock playlist, a dance playlist and even a workout playlist. After creating my list I could then access it at a click. Finally to add any new songs to these lists its as simple as dragging a song into it. It couldnt be easier!

I was afraid of the complexity of this software, however it couldnt be more simple to use in my eyes. A great peice of software to easily organise any music library.

Summary: For quick organisation of your music its definately the software to use!
