Advantages: Podcasts work very well, nice display of collection

iTunes is apples multimedia player, and the tool used to upload to any type of apple mp3 player.

The multimedia player section is good, with album art bringing life to huge lists of song titles. Smart play lists are a good idea, and the introduction of genius gives generally good results. Pod casts are a big advantage to itunes, they are seamlessly blended with all other media, and download automatically.

The only thing letting itunes down is its parent company's paranoia about pirated music. Ipods have limits to how many times it can be twinned with itunes. Album art is dodgey unless the song was bought from itunes. itunes purchased songs can only be played on itunes and on 1 ipod.

This in itself is a good piece of software, but the anti piracy features do drag it down. If you own an ipod, you need itunes, if you don't, i wouldn't advise it.
