Advantages: make professional looking DVDs

Disadvantages: it is quite simple

I am quite keen on Ulead software. I have purchased many items of software from Ulead and I am sure I will for many more years. Many years ago I downloaded the Ulead DVD PictureShow to try and control my many photos from a holiday. I enjoyed using it so much after the trial was up I purchased the Ulead DVD PictureShow Imaging Suite. The Software includes Ulead Photo Explorer 7.0 Pro and Ulead Photo Express 4.0.

The software requires either Microsoft Windows 98, 2000, ME and XP and requires Intel Pentium Processor or above. It also requires 64 MB of RAM although 128 MB is recommended. You will also require 40 MB of available hard drive space for program installation. If you plan to put your work onto a DVD or CD then you will also require a CD/DVD burner.

This program is excellent as you can upload pictures from a camera or scanner and place these into a slideshow with transitions, animation and music. The Ulead Photo Explorer means that it is easier to acquire images but allows the user more time to edit the photos or create additional documents such as calendars, greetings cards and postcards. I was able to put all my photos from our holiday with Samba de Janeiro which made them far more interesting to watch.

The screen can be very confusing to a first time user however found it very self explanatory and easy to use. I really enjoy using the software, although I do feel it has lost its appeal since the Digital photo frames have been introduced as they do a lot of this for you. If you did however want to do something creative for a gift then this package is great. I created a DVD of my cousins Christening, my aunt and uncle loved it so much I though I would create an anniversary DVD of their wedding 10 years ago. I added pictures and music and ensured that the transitions made the DVD look effortless and professional.

I have really enjoyed using ULead DVD PictureShow Imaging Suite and will continue to use it in the future. It may produce simple DVD slideshows but they are highly effective.
