MagdaDH Museums & Art Galleries in Amsterdam in general: ... has over 50 museums, covering everything from Van Gogh to prostitution, Rembrandt to beer, diamonds to Anne Frank, modern art to marijuana. You are not likely to want - or be able to - visit all or even most of them during your visit, but you are likely to find something of interest in the sheer variety of them all: below is a pick of the best we visited during our long weekend in February 2009. 1) Van Go...

garymarsh6 Egyptian Museum
... Egyptian Museum Cairo. We visited the Museum in Cairo one afternoon and in fact you could probably spend not only a couple of days here a lifetime would not be long enough as there is so much to see. The museum is housed in a building of great halls built by the French in 1908. In total there are 107 halls and it would be impossible to see all of the items in a couple of hours. There is a special exhibition of the mummies in a side hall for which there is a separate charge of 40 L on top of the 20L for normal entry. Normal opening times are between 09:00 and 19:00 but you should check locally for opening times. There are souvenir shops, toilets, a library, tourist ...

beckyX Museum of New Zealand: Te Papa Tongarewa
... Papa Tongarewa museum ("Te Papa" or "Our Place" for short) is New Zealand s national museum and is right in the heart of Wellington next to the docks. If you only have time to visit one thing in Wellington, visit Te Papa. Many of the collections are online, so if you can t make it all the way to New Zealand, then have a look at the web pages instead. Originally dating from 1992 (or 1998 for the present incarnation in its iconic building), this is a modern museum suitable for children and adults alike and the exhibits are fun and often interactive, whilst still being educational. Most of the exhibitions are free, but you pay if you want to go on a g...

andrew_dav Museum of Flight (Seattle)
... visited the Museum of Flight a couple of years ago and was astounded by what they have to offer. This museum doesn t just explore conventional flight, but also looks at the wider picture relating to anything that has been airborne and man made such as space flight etc. Firstly it s easy to get to, as it s literally minutes off of the I5 interstate motorway just south of Seattle and it s easy to get to. There s a vast amount of parking facilities which makes it very accessible, and it s well signposted and good directions are given. They have a good rapport with all of Seattle tourism and there are many good deals available to tie it in with. For example, we bought a p...
