Belgian Comic Strip CentreNewest Review: ... is French). This sorry state of affairs has been lightly resolved with the Belgian Comic Strip Centre/Centre Belge de la Bande Dessinee. It is located in a fine Art Nouveau building in the East of the old town; several minutes walk from the Place de Martyrs and the Grand Place. It is also stop number 2 on the Comic Strip walk around Brussels. Your are welcomed by a statue of Tintin et Milou (Snowy) and a huge replica of the rocket that took them on their most famous adventure to the Moon. Although the art originated in America, it was Georges Remy who created probably the most famous cartoon strip character: Tintin and his loyal companion, Snowy the Dog. Belgium has adopted this art form for itself. Just look in any bookshop or the specialist comic strip bookstores along the Boulevard Anspach (near the Bourse) and you?ll find group of adults, mostly, reading the latest adventures not just of Tintin, but a whole treasure chest of characters.
