Everybody with any interest in Italian (and by extension, European) painting of the last last few hundred years, but particularly Renaissance should try to visit. Uffizi being the busiest single building in Italy, it s not always easy to get in. In the summer, the queues are longer than the building itself, and as the number of people allowed in is sensibly limited, only early morning arrival (and half a day of more spent queuing) will ensure entry. ... was not particularly impressed with the number of museums and art galleries in central Marseille. However there are a few that I did find interesting, and definitely worth a visit if you find yourself in Marseille with some time to kill. Musee Cantini, for example, has some great modern art, whilst the Musee d histoire (located beneath the Centre Bourse shopping centre) has some great ancient artefacts, including the worlds best preserved hull of a boat from the 6th century, and the ancient remains of what used to be the port in the Hellenic period.
