I have always felt a bit guilty that on my previous visits to Paris I have never visited the Louvre, this time as we were in Paris over a weekend we decided to visit on the Sunday as it is free entry, this does mean that it is very busy but given that we wanted to see the main exhibits only we knew it would be crowded anyway. I cant believe no-one has written a review on this wonderful gallery and museum of art. It boasts over 35000 works of art including Davinci's Mona Lisa. There are various floors with many other departments including greek and roman antiquities, eastern antiquities, prints, paintings, decorative arts, islamic art and sculptures. The galleries are often packed and its a hastle having to queue for many of the works. If your a keene art lover and just like to sit and watch the silences are often disturbed by talking groups.
