All manner of illegal activity went on here, side by side with ordinary people living their lives. Today, only one portion of the original wall remains, preserved as part of the exhibition. The main feature here is the beautiful park, which is set out in the traditional Chinese style and is extremely safe and peaceful. I visited Hong Kong in May 2009 and during that time, I visited the Kowloon Walled City Park and Museum. If you are ever on holiday in Hong Kong, I strongly suggest that you visit this fascinating attraction. The address for Kowloon Walled City Park and Museum is Carpenter Road, Kowloon, and is easily accessible from all means of public transport. The park and exhibition is on the site of a former notorious walled city, as the name suggests: A former fort, the walls were once broken down and used during the Japanese occupation to build the old Kai Tak airport.
