Advantages: The Rocky Steps

Disadvantages: Rain, rain, and more rain

Otherwise known as the stage for the famous 'Rocky Steps', Philadelphia's Metropolitan Museum of Art is a must-see.

A formidable building, from the top of the aformentioned steps is the best view in all of Philadelphia; with a central road lined in flags of the world leading to the heart of the city. It is worthwhile spending a half hour or so sat at the lip of these steps, watching people of all sizes, colours, nationalities, and even ages, run like the wind up the steps and literally jump for joy, punching the air at the top. The museum shop actually sells a book entitled "The Rocky Steps' in which an entrepreneurial author sat atop the steps for an entire day and asked people what had led them to do the run. It included some really touching stories.

The museum itself was having a Cezanne exhibition, and to be honest I didn't think a lot of it. Van Gogh's Sunflower was on loan, which I was very excited to see.

I visited their museum across the road (a free bus runs every 5 mins) who had a French Couture Exhibition on, and this was much more to my liking.

Summary: Rising up, straight to the top, did my time, took my chances...
