Advantages: free chocolate, can use your club card vouchers

Disadvantages: cafe is over priced and bad quality.

Went to Cadbury world in the school holidays, you can get a train direct from Birmingham to Bournville and Cadbury world is less than 5 minutes walk away.

When we arrived in the ticket area it was pandamonium, there were lots of confusing ques, the majority of them for pre booked tickets (oh why didn't I think of that!) The others were to get tickets for the exhibition but for a few hours time! By now it was around 11am and the next exhibition time available was for 1:15pm! Luckily it was just me and my son and the woman managed to squeeze us in for the 12:10pm exhibition so we only had a hour wait. The price is £13 for adults and £9.95 for children, I do feel this was a little over priced for the children when you look at other things you can do in the midlands for similar prices. We paid with our Tesco vouchers which made our visit very good value but I would be unwilling to pay the full charge for it.

We killed time going around the shop and grabbed some lunch in the over priced cafe - although saying that the kids sandwich pack was quite good. The casburys shop was great and there were some bargains to be had.

Finally it was time to go into the exhibition and we queued up, it was a nice suprise when we got to the front of the que to find out that we got given 2 chocolate bars free each :-) Yum!!

We started off by going through the Aztec forest, which most of the younger children including mine hated and many had to be dragged through the door when as soon as the doors opened it was pitch dark with thunder sounds! I didn't really see that exhibition as I had to drag my terrified child through it!!

Then it was on to the Cadburt story where you are in this old street with old fashioned shop fronts, John Cadbury tells you a story and you follow it through, both my 5yr old and I found this very interesting.

We then went through to this cinema about chocolate making which had special effects under the seats, but anyone of a nervous disposition could find this a bit traumatic!

The main factory was closed on the day we went, but we got given some more chocolate!

We then queued for ages for the cadabra ride which was very poor! We wouldn't have bothered queing if we had known!

In the demonstration area the children can write there name with chocolate, although the staff were not very welcoming to the children and they looked positively bored!

Then on to Cadbury and TV, which was a pointless exhibition it was just TV's showing adverts!

Purple planet was fun where the kids can be on TV and run round on various interactive games - a good way for them to burn excess energy!

We almost forgot to go over to essence as that was not in the main building, we had a long queue to get in here too and it was a little boring for the kids, but it was interesting seeing how they came up with creating the glass and a half dairy milk chocolate bars. And on the way out we were given chocolate buttons too, so worth the wait!!

The childrens play area looked very good but unfortunately it was raining heavily the day we went so my son didn't get to play on it. Due to the bad weather they had a magician in a tent, his acts were a little poor but the kids loved it all the same!

Summary: all in all a good day out but a little expensive if you don't use your tesco vouchers!
