Ok you're in the Lake District and its raining. You know what I mean this is not normal rain but Cumbrian rain. You have screaming kids with you and they want to do something.
Keswick is the place to head and then go to the CARS OF THE STARS MUSEUM. It's based in the middle of Keswick with loads of car parks near by. The car parks can get very busy at peak times so you may have to drive around for a while or park in one of the many side streets.
The museum does not look like much from the outside and as you enter the main building you still think there is not much in here. But on entering the doors to the to the museum part of the building you realise that it's well worth it.
One of the first parts you see is a mock Gotham City backdrop and in front of that is the Batmobile from the 60's series, the Batmobile from the 80's movie and another from the last film. There is information on each car to read if you want to know all about it.
As you walk around the museum you will see loads more cars from TV and film. Cars from Del Boys Reliant to the original KITT from Knight Rider. Some of the cars are the originals but some are ones used for promotional work. You can't touch the cars as they have ropes in front of them but most of them you can get within a couple of feet of them to have a closer look
The museum as a whole is a great place to go if you're in the area. The only problem I have with the place is they don't allow you to take pictures of the cars as they have loads of pictures in the shop and they want you to buy these instead. These pictures are ok but most people would like a picture of themselves or kids stood in front of the cars.
Summary: Worth paying a visit to if in Keswick
