Wilberforce, known worldwide for his fight to abolish slavery, this 17th Century building retains many interesting features, such as the oak panelled banqueting room.Newest Review: ... more of a formal display but the models and sounds gave it a different twist .Mind you I did have a giggle when walking through one day after a school party had just left I saw a very sad looking slave with a huge salad sandwich in his right hand . Kids eh . On the bad side lots of the original features had either been removed or hidden . Speaking to the curator though I realised not ... more ... everything was original as the council had made various changes over the years .
During the 1980's the museum incorporated a walk through to the 'Georgian Houses' next door which held many costume and medal displays plus a drawing room in traditional styl...more |
