Ever since I was a little kid I've wanted to learn how to play the guitar. I would idolize guys like Jimmy Page and David Gilmour and dream that one day I would be able to play like that. Little did I know just how difficult that journey would be. A few years ago, I decided that I wanted to give it a try. So I picked up Getting Started on Electric Guitar in hopes that I would pick up a few licks. The DVD's instructor, Keith Wyatt, does a great job of going through the basics in quick repeatable chapters. Wyatt goes through everything you'll need to know to start playing music. Starting with the very basics, such as tuning the guitar to more advanced scales, you'll learn at your own pace. The lessons are cut into short digestible sections that you'll quickly memorize. Before you know it, you've developed an arsenal of picking skills and all sorts of chords. The reason I liked this DVD is because it was easy to understand, (including visual aids) and most importantly it gave me the tools I needed to play some music. After studying the lessons in this DVD countless times I am now able to play along with friends and family. If you've ever wanted to learn to play the guitar, this is a great place to start.
