... Nick Cave. It was a risky move for her, but I think 'Where The Wild Roses Grow' came together really well and the atmosphereic video really helps take it to the next level. After even more acclaim and a new generation of fans, Kylie decided that it was time for another gamble and spent two years writing a new album. After a further six months of delays she unleashed 'Impossible Princess' onto the world - and the majority of us didn't give it a second glance. The label described it as dance, but everyone who h...more

- - - - - - - - - The videos - - - - - - - - - We all know who Kylie is so lets skip the introduction. In fact I personally recommend skipping the first nine tracks, as none of them have aged very well musically and I'm sure that she'd agree that she was still undeveloped vocally. Things start to get interesting at the 'Rhythm Of Love' era. By this point she'd toured and was more confident in her vocal abilities and it shows. She had also outgrown her bubblegum pop roots and come to realise that she's pretty and sex sells, I think that the dancier pop and the revealing clothing and suggestive wiggling that abruptly begin to appear in her ...  Read the complete review

Ultimately Kylie (1114 words)

Without the image, its highly doubtful that the most famous Minogue in the world would be anywhere near the revered icon she has become. As famous for those glory moments in fashion (a pair of hot pants single handedly revived her failing pop career nearly a decade ago) as she is for her disco dolly mantle, Kylie Minogue owes a lot to her relationships with the likes of Dolce & Gabbana. Aside from her extravagant and re-defining tour's, the best place to spot Kylie's merging of beauty and pop classics is in this (almost) complete collection of her UK hits. Coming in at 33 tracks, the absence of the gorgeous Finer Feelings or the snubbing of the ...  Read the complete review

Kylie Minogue - Ultimate Kylie (DVD): An Evening On The Sofa With Kylie. Yes Thank You (615 words)

Everyone likes Kylie Minogue. Even Dannii Minogue must marvel at her sister's success. What could be more fun than settling down for an entire evening and watching a whole DVD of all her hits. I have cherry picked some of the highlights on this DVD. Who can forget 'I Should Be So Lucky' in which Kylie flaps around her bedroom in a dressing gown with that birds nest hairdo. The song has dated, but it is a gloriously kitsch bit of pop music. After this, she churned out the cheesy pop numbers, with 'Got To Be So Certain' and 'The Locomotion', which has a very pleasing video and some dance moves you will simply have to master before the night is ...  Read the complete review

If your a kylie fan and want a complete (pre release date) set of kylies videos from the permed up 80's to the digital naughtys then this a great buy, or present. The DVD works through the princess of pops videos from the cheesy i should be so lucky, the dark confide in me and the up to date cant get you out of my head. I was a bit disapointed at first as i thought it would be a bit of a tour maby an auto bigraphy or a cd in with it but so long as you know what your getting it wont be a big shock. The menu on the DVD is easy to naviate and its easy to skip through the songs that your not to keen on. Bit expensive but if you hunt around you can grab it for a ...  Read the complete review
