Capital 95.8 FMNewest Review: ... of competitions, hot music and regular news updates along with travel from the mad woman travelling above the City in a helicopter! The variety of what goes on at Capital just goes on and on, and I haven't even mentioned shows like pop star Danii Minogue's weekly dance music show Neon Nights or Schooly's shows. It is true, to an extent, to say that the DJs at Capital tend to ... more |

On the radio in the kitchen, on the radio in my bedroom, on the alarm clock in my bedroom, and on my Sky Digital telly on channel 925. These are the four place in my house where Capital FM will regularly be found blaring out the top chart hits. Capital is a part of a group of radio stations that broadcasts across the country, but Capital FM is devoted specifically to London quite obviously, hence the name. They play a variety of music types from current charts and some older tracks too. 95.8 Capital FM offer a nice range of radio shows that offer a varied taste in music, whether you want to be woken up gently but with a laugh in the morning from Who ... Steve Penk coming to you across the capital network between 10p.m - 1a.m every Sunday - Thursday.... The Steve Penk show is basically a DJ on the radio (obviously) prank calling verious places around the world... making you 'pee' yourself laughing every night. He is the best DJ on the radio ever!! and I mean even better than the greats such as Steve Wright and Mark Goodier... he has vrious specials aswell, such as: ****THE SLAP BOX**** You e-mail the show "studio@StevePenk.com" and give him the name of someone who has been really getting on your nerves recently and you think they deserve a good old slap... then they go in the slap ... Now, however I have been listening to Capital Radio for the last few days while at work. I do get in early enough to catch a fair part of the Chris Tarrent and his excellent show, which has to be the highlight of the play list. But, after a while you seem to hear that tune again, in fact you get to hear that tune again and again, I've heard the latest Nelly Furtado (turn off the lights) song at least four if not five times ... I used to love Capital FM... maybe it was because I also used to love prancing around my bedroom to Take That and Boyzone but as far as i can see, Capital has changed just as much as me in the past few years, just in the opposite way. I grew up with Capital blasting at me on the coach on they way to school and every weekend and evening but now I can barely last 5 minutes without it driving me mad. I must admit that this probably has a lot to do with the target age group because I clearly remember the Capital extravaganza always being packed full of 10-15 year olds. However, I also feel that Capital has started to lean even more towards it's younger ... Read the complete review
