Advantages: Great competitions.

Disadvantages: Over commercialised.

Capital Fm claim to be "London's no.1 hit music station," but I, and many others who I know are beginning to doubt whether they can hold on to this claim for much longer. For a start, during the last 12 months, the airtime has become over commercialised; adverts are now taking priority over music. I listen to capital every morning, but recently I have noticed a lack of music. I counted just 3 songs played in one half hour period. This is unacceptable for a radio station that was set up to cater for the needs of the musical ears. The mix of great dj's and competitions used to make capital fm enjoyable to listen to, but now it seems money has become more important than the needs of the listeners.
Of course, a commercial radio station' main source of income is from sponsorship and airtime adverts, but I believe it's been taken too far. I would urge capital radio that owns the station to consider the consequences of the commercialisation aspect and look at alternative sources of income.
I will leave you to make up your own opinion, but who wants to listen to adverts all the time?
