Now I used to listen to Capital Radio years ago when I was just a little nipper and I thought it was so cool that I could tape (remember those?) the latest records from the chart show and play them on my hi-fi when ever I wanted.

Now, however I have been listening to Capital Radio for the last few days while at work. I do get in early enough to catch a fair part of the Chris Tarrent and his excellent show, which has to be the highlight of the play list.

But, after a while you seem to hear that tune again, in fact you get to hear that tune again and again, I've heard the latest Nelly Furtado (turn off the lights) song at least four if not five times so far today, also that goes for the latest Usher song as well, perhaps even more but I haven't been paying that much attention.

Now, that wouldn't be a bad thing if you liked these songs and I for one am a fan of Nelly's and get to nod my head along to her funky beats. Am I showing my age here? But if there is a top song that you can't stand you either have to listen it or turn off the radio every so often.

The point is that it is so repetitive, sure the company has to play the top hits, but once almost every hour seems a tad excessive, what room is there for new talent or breaking bands? How about playing some oldies or mixing it up a bit, most of the play list is top 40's

Most of the DJ's sound the same, I have just realised that Margarita Taylor had finished hours ago and some guy is now on! I honestly couldn't tell you when one finished and one started. At least with Chris Tarrant he entertains you a bit.

So all in all, if your looking for latest songs to play again and again, and again, then great, your in for a real treat. Also if your taking a short journey by car or going somewhere, then for an hour or so it's fine, but for any longer it is just like sticking a CD in and playing it on repeat.

All I can say is
that this is from the last few day times listening, it maybe different at the night time. Also I would probably expect much the same from many other radio stations, I think I might try a few during this and next week.

My god, there are actually playing a song that I haven't heard today, shock, horror! :)
