Advantages: The radio can be tuned to other stations.

Disadvantages: How long do you have?

As a local radio station CFM provides most of the stuff you would expect! A very limited play-list which spans nearly all the programmes during the day and night. I am a regular listener by default in my workplace and can expect to hear the same songs at least 3 or 4 times a day.
At night the station is presented by a couple of presenters who reinforce the dull and predictable brand the station has become infamous for throughout the Cumbria and South West Scotland area.
Don't get me wrong there are times when the station breaks from this format but sadly these are normally when the music is played "Back to back" as they call it in the trade, giving the presenters a chance to think of something insipidly "hilarious" to talk about then quickly edit and use as a sound-bite for the next 3 months.
"Just listen to what you missed on the hilarious CFM recently!"
If you like 80's music, recent overplayed pop rubbish and Eurythmics you'll love it!

Summary: If you are searching for local news Radio Cumbria is much better.
