Advantages: Very funny, good banter

Disadvantages: Few more songs needed

I have been an avid listener of the Chris Moyles Show since it first started and bar the school holidays when I didn't have to be up before 12 I never missed a show.

I love the upbeat banter, the characters on the show and even the occassional good tune thrown in for good measure.

The show is definitely more of a chat show than a music show- that means about 10-15 minutes of chat for every song played.

Unlike most shows, Chris relies heavily on his colleagues to keep the show going. He can hold his own but the chat between him and his sidekick "Comedy" Dave Vitty, newsreader Dominic Byrne, sports reader Carrie Davis, producer Rachel and Aled whose job I'm not really sure of. The way the banter flows you almost feel like you know the people personally. We know what their insecurities are as Chris plays on them so well. Dominic hates the fact he is bald and is often called a slaphead and Aled is often ridiculed for his campness!

The show also has some listener interaction with games such as Carpark Catchphrase which featured the legendary Roy Walker had two listeners sitting in their cars while they listened to a desription of a catchphrase. When they knew the answer they had to beep their horn.

This has now been replaced with Chegger's Pop Quiz which features Keith Chegwin and two listeners answer questions. It isn't as funny as Carpark Catchphrase is but it is still a good feature.

Also on Fridays they do the Chris Moyles Golden Hour where songs from a certain year are played and the listeners have to try and guess the year. It is a great feature as you get to actually hear some music and it will drive you crazy trying to remember what year that great tune came out in.

Chris is known for his near the knuckle comedy and he frequently steps over the line and he gets his knuckles wrapped! But it is this sort of comedy that a lot of people like including myself.

This is a great show and my only criticism would be that sometimes you do want him to shut up and play a tune. He definitely loves the sound of his own voice but what DJ doesn't? It's just that people can find his over confidence more arrogant.

Brilliant show and definitely a better way to wake up than with Sir Terry!!

Summary: Fab show with a fab bunch of people on it
