The Chris Moyles Show

Chris Moyles is a Radio 1 DJ who has his own show, aired each weekday morning from 6.30am to 10am. He is joined by his team, made up of the producers, Rachel Jones and Aled Hayden Jones, Carrie Davies, the show's sports reporter, Dominic Byrne the newsreader and Comedy Dave, Moyles's sidekick and partner in crime.

Chris Moyles has been around for some years now, and calls himself "the savior of Radio 1". I used to really enjoy listening to him, I found him to be topical, funny and witty. In fact, I used to laugh out load while listening to him and looked forward to tuning in each day. Sadly, I don't find myself enjoying his show half as much as I used to.

There is a lot more chatting than music and Moyles has gone from being amusing to sounding slightly sarcastic and bitchy on most subjects. The show isn't really about topical discussion any more, and seems to be more of a forum for Moyles to pass opinions on everyone and everything, often to the point of being quite unpleasant.

I also read his book, "The Gospel According to Chris Moyles" and was very disappointed. The whole book seemed to be Moyles slagging off people who had not rated him in the past, and boasting of his success. Now I can appreciate that it would be satisfying to prove people wrong, but sometimes maintaining a bit of dignity can send the most powerful message of all. I couldn't help feeling that his book would have been more enjoyable had it followed that format.

Clearly, Moyles still has a lot of fans, but I am afraid that I am no longer one of them. I find that what used to be funny and fresh, has become dated and boring and no longer entertaining for me. I now tune in to an alternate radio station on the way to work and can't see this changing any time soon! I have given the show 3 stars, simply because I know he still has a large following, of which, I am not one.
